The Farm Cafe

Keene Roots: The Farm Café

For Keene Roots: The Farm Café, my primary role was shaping the film in the editing studio. I built the documentary’s tone and rhythm by crafting smooth transitions, refining pacing, and using J-cuts and L-cuts to guide viewers naturally between cooking moments and interview insights. I also handled color correction and visual continuity, giving the footage a warm, earthy look that reflected the café’s atmosphere.

Sound played a major part in the edit as well. I layered detailed kitchen audio from grill sizzles, knife work, and ambient café noise. To create a textured soundscape that made the space feel alive. Music and sound design choices were used to support the film’s inviting, community-centered mood.

The final cut was selected for the Keene State College Film Festival, and the project became a great example of how thoughtful editing can turn local stories into engaging, polished films.
