Music Video to “Oath” by Becky G
Every once in a while, you get to make a video that’s just straight-up fun from start to finish. That was exactly the vibe with this music video I shot to “Oath” by Becky G. I wanted a full montage of two best friends living their absolute best lives, being chaotic, goofy, loyal, and totally inseparable.
Since the song is literally an anthem about friendship, I knew the video didn’t need some complicated storyline. The whole idea was simple: capture the kind of moments that only make sense between best friends. Inside jokes, spontaneous adventures, the “how did we end up here?” kind of days — all the little things that feel huge when you're with your favorite person.
In my first official film class in High School made a music video to “Oath” by Becky G. There was some slight planning of real events:
– hit a few fun spots,
– get some energetic shots,
– grab a bunch of candid moments, inside jokes, and all the random fun that happens when you hit record and let the day unfold.
We ran around campus getting shots in different spots, grabbing whatever moments felt right. The best clips were totally unplanned: laughing outside, messing around while getting ice cream, and just them being themselves.
Editing it was the perfect match with the song’s upbeat vibe. I utilized quick cuts, bright energy, and a whole lot of friendship packed into a short video.
Simple, fun, and honestly one of the easiest shoots ever because it didn’t feel like a shoot at all. Just myself, my two best friends, a camera, and a great soundtrack. Making this film at 16 years old not only impressed my classmates but also my teacher.
