Sorority Montage
Real Moments, One Story: Sorority Montage
As the editor of Sorority Montage, a recruitment film created for Phi Sigma Sigma's spring recruitment, I set out to craft an energetic, heartfelt glimpse into the chapter’s daily life for potential new members. To build the piece, I reached out to sisters across the chapter and asked them to submit their own videos. Personal clips that captured what the “Phi Sig Experience” meant to them. The resulting footage ranged from spontaneous hangouts to celebrations, quiet bonding moments, and everything in between.
My role was to curate and transform this wide mix of content into a cohesive, emotionally powerful montage. I organized and categorized the clips by tone, theme, film orientation, and visual style. Once complete, I shaped them into a rhythmic sequence that balanced candid emotion with upbeat energy. Through careful pacing, transitions, and alignment with the music, the final version offers viewers an authentic glimpse into the joy and community that defined our chapter.
Editing this film improved my skills as an editor because I had to use single-take clips that could not be redone or adjusted. I had to truly take raw footage and turn it into something beautiful.
